New York

In 2000 I visited New york as a part of  my University course.  We visited in February, it was very cold, a little bit icy but an amazing experience.  i was Mid-way through my Photography degree and the visual exploration of the Big Apple gave me inspiration.  Back then all of my images were on film, the negatives now buried deep in my files.  One image in particular, for me, is very poignant: We visited the top of the World Trade Centre at sunset, and watch the city below us change from day to night.  The cityscape bathed in golden sunlight is part of my visual record of that experience.  Whilst up there I put a cent in one of those machines that squishes the coin and imprints an image of the two towers – I wish i could find it now, just over 18 months later the towers no longer existed.
Fast Forward 13 years and I am taking students to visit New York.
